Getting Creative
The Mornington Peninsula Shire has lined up a range of hands-on creative workshops perfect for primary-aged children. A highlight is the paper craft workshop (April 16), where kids aged 5–12 can turn recycled materials into imaginative creations. It’s fun, educational and eco-friendly.
Nearby, the Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery is hosting art workshops like Easter clay creations and pet portrait sessions, encouraging kids to get messy and creative before taking home their masterpieces.
Tech & Sports here in Mt Eliza
Right in the heart of Mt Eliza, Peninsula Grammar is hosting a 3-day holiday camp (April 14–16) packed with coding, robotics, sports and arts. Designed for ages 5–14, it’s a great option for parents looking for a full-day activity that blends learning and play.
Outdoor Adventures, Wildlife & Night Walks
Autumn is ideal for getting outdoors, and the Peninsula delivers. Families can head to The Briars for wildlife encounters and evening nature walks, where kids can spot native animals and explore the bush after dark; an unforgettable experience for curious young minds.
For something extra special, Walk Mornington Peninsula runs guided night flashlight walks during the holidays. These small-group experiences are designed especially for families, giving kids the chance to explore bushland with torches, learn about nocturnal wildlife and see the Peninsula in a completely different light.
For daytime adventures, farm experiences like The Big Goose and Moonlight Sanctuary and coastal walks around Mornington and Mt Martha or for the more adventurous, Cape Schank or Point Nepean give children the chance to explore the region with space to run, climb and discover.

Looking for something a little different? Arthurs Seat Eagle is running special school holiday activities through to April 21, including Easter-themed games, craft sessions and even live animal shows. Pair it with the scenic gondola ride and you’ve got a full day out sorted.

Easter holidays bring plenty of extra excitement across the Peninsula. Highlights include the Mornington Peninsula Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery at Flinders where you can do taste tests and watch chocolate making demos; an a perennial favourite, Enchanted Adventure Garden perfect for an action packed day for kids and parents alike as you wander mazes, adventure playgrounds and gardens, explore the tree canopy and marvel at treetop playhouses and slides.
Easy, Local Options
Sometimes the simplest outings are the best. Across the Mornington Peninsula, you’ll find endless playgrounds and indoor play centres for cooler or rainy days, bike tracks and skate parks, beaches (of course) and picnic spots for low-cost fun. Village hopping is also fun, making stops for pub lunches, ice creams and boutique shopping.
